Do you think public radio ought to be a place for classical music, jazz, or other music unavailable on commercial radio?

So do we.

Sadly, many public radio stations have reduced or eliminated their music offerings in recent years. The Association of Music Personnel in Public Radio-or AMPPR-is a group of people employed either in public radio, the recording industry, or other related fields. All of our members are committed to making sure that great music will always have a place on the public airwaves.

AMPPR serves as an advocate for stations that air music programming; offers workshops for air talent to insure that they are realizing their full potential in presenting the music; holds an annual conference designed to help stations stay on top of trends, to learn what successful stations are doing today, and to be prepared to meet the challenges of the future.

Can we bring the music back to a station that doesn't play it any more? Probably not. But what we can do is make sure that the stations that are still airing music remain strong, so the temptation to eliminate music won't exist.

As a public radio listener, you can help AMPPR by making a donation to support our organization.

Your donation will enable us to do more for music stations. With your contribution, we can offer cash-strapped stations scholarships to attend our conference, so they can learn how to more effectively reach their audience today and tomorrow, and how to effectively raise enough funds to stay viable. Your support will also enable us to offer additional workshops and learning opportunities, and can allow us to make our voice heard more effectively as we serve to advocate for music.

Please consider making a donation to AMPPR today. Any amount you can give will be greatly appreciated.
