Savannah
is situated along the southeastern Atlantic coast, just off of two major
interstates, I-95 and I-16. Savannah is located approximately 4-1/2 hours
by car from Atlanta and approximately 45 minutes by car from Hilton Head
Island, SC. Savannah can be easily accessed by air, by car, by train, or

Air:
The
three major airlines that fly direct to Savannah are U.S. Airways (1-800-428-4322),

Car:
To
get to Savannah from Atlanta: Take I-75 South to I-16 East (Savannah) and
stay on I-16 until it dead ends in downtown Savannah. You will now be in
the heart of the historic district. Go right on Liberty and make a left
on Bull Street for a scenic drive toward River Street.
Motorists
headed north or south on Interstate 95 can reach Savannah via I-16 East;
from Atlanta via I-75 South, which connects with I-16 East near Macon;
from Hilton Head, South Carolina, via U.S. 278, then I-95 South and I-16
East; from Charleston, South Carolina, via U.S. 17 South, then I-95 South
and I-16 East.
To
get to Tybee Island from downtown Savannah: Take Whitaker Street south
until it dead ends into Victory Drive. Make a left on Victory Drive and
follow Victory Drive until it turns into Hwy. 80 East. You will drive over
several bridges before arriving on Tybee Island, the terminus of Hwy. 80
East. Tybee Island is located approximately 15 miles from Savannah’s historic
district.
By
Train:
Amtrak
offers service to Savannah. The train station is located at 2611 Seaboard
