Much of the financial success of this conference depends on you, our attendees, reserving sleeping rooms at the Marriott Mission Valley to fill our room block, a figure which was contracted with the hotel a couple years ago when the economy was strong and attendance was high at the MPCs. Should we fall short, AMPPR will have to pay rent for the meeting rooms as well as for sleeping rooms not used. You can help us avoid this potential pitfall by staying at the conference hotel while in San Diego. RESERVATIONS:

San Diego Marriott Mission Valley: Single/Double Rooms, $134 plus applicable taxes. Rates are available from Sunday, February 2, through Sunday, February 9, pending availability. Reservations by attendees must be received by Friday, January 10, 2003. Reservations can be made through the Marriott Hotel’s reservation department directly at 619-692-3800 or at the Marriott web site. For phone reservations, give the meeting name MUSIC PERSONNEL CONFERENCE at the time of the call to qualify for the special conference hotel rates. 

Marriott web site reservations: At the http://marriott.com web site, type San Diego and California in the “Find and Reserve” section. Click on “Find.” Go down to the “San Diego Marriott Mission Valley” bar and click on it. (Alternatively, go directly to the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley web site at 
http://www.marriott.com/dpp/PropertyPage.asp?MarshaCode=SANMV.) At the site, click on “Reserve a Room.” Put in the conference dates (i.e., February 5 to February 9) and put in the number of guests. Then go down the page to “Group Code.” Put AMPAMPA in that space and click on “Check Rates and Availability.” You should be at the AMPPR rate site. Click on “Reserve a Room” and follow the instructions.

All reservations must be accompanied by a first night room deposit or guaranteed with a major credit card.

From the airport: Take I-5 North to 8 East. Exit at Qualcomm Way. Turn right on Rio San Diego Drive. Ideally located at I-8, just 1/2 mile west of Qualcomm (Jack Murphy) Stadium, with easy access from I-5, I-163, I-805, I-8 & I-15 and only 10 minutes from downtown San Diego, the Convention Center, and Lindbergh Field Airport. Walking distance to Rio Vista West Plaza with numerous shops and restaurants.
