MEETING
AMPPR, “The Public
Radio Music Group,” will hold its annual Music Personnel Conference in
Houston Sunday, February 5 through Wednesday, February 8, 2006. Public
radio programming and announcing professionals as well as program producers
and record labels gather for the only national meeting devoted solely to
the broadcasting of music on public radio stations. AMPPR’s Conference
provides the opportunity for its members to discuss the latest research
in music and music programming and how this information can be used to
increase the number of new listeners and enhance the music listening experience
on public radio.
SCHEDULE
Registration and
an orientation session for newcomers will begin on Sunday afternoon. Sunday
evening we welcome attendees with an opening reception. The Conference
will run through Wednesday.
HIGHLIGHTS
This year's conference agenda will include a wide variety of presentations from the latest information on two classical radio studies - the NEA’s Classical Music Report and the Classical Core Value Application project - to Podcasting and HD Radio. Click here to view the conference agenda

PAYMENT
Acceptable methods
of payment include credit card (Mastercard/Visa/American Express/Discover/Diners),
check, or money order.
HOTEL
MPC 44 will be held
at the InterContinental Houston, 2222 West Loop South, Houston, Texas 77027.
The room rate is $125 single or double occupancy. The conference rate will
apply three days prior and three days after the conference dates, subject
to availability. You must reserve your room by Friday, January 13 to qualify
for the conference rate. We recommend that you register early to make sure
you get a room. Make your reservation directly with the InterContinental
Houston by phone at (713) 627-7600 and be sure to tell them you're attending
the Music Personnel Conference.
You can also make your reservation online at www.houston.intercontinental.com then click on “Reservations” in the sidebar; on the next screen fill in the dates, preferences, and insert L50 in the Group Booking Code box and follow the prompts to complete your reservation.
The InterContinental Houston requires that all reservations be guaranteed. A check equal to one night’s room and tax, or major credit card will guarantee a reservation. Stations/ organizations must provide individual names for each room reserved.
Hotel Cancellation
Policy
Cancellations must
be made 24 hours prior to arrival in order to avoid charge for the first
night. Reservations can only be cancelled by calling the hotel directly
and obtaining a cancellation number. No-shows will be charged accordingly.
