Membership Elects Two
Members
to the Board of Directors
at
Tucson Conference
At
its annual meeting in Tucson in February, the AMPPR membership elected
two board members to replace members whose terms had expired.
Hal
Prentice has been FM Program Manager at WKAR at Michigan State University
in East Lansing since 1974 and supervises all music programming and operations.
His first job in radio was in 1965 at the now-defunct public station WFBE
in his home town of Flint, Michigan. He also worked as a music producer
at WUOM, Ann Arbor, from 1971 to 1974.
Hal served on the AMPPR Board of Directors from 1992-2000. He maintains
the AMPPR ListServ, and his photographs of the conference appear on the
AMPPR web site and in this issue of Music Notes.
Laura
Harbert, Music Director for West Virginia Public Radio in Charleston, West
Virginia, is a radio convert from the music education and performance
world.
She worked for WTEB in New Bern, North Carolina, as a part-time announcer
before moving to West Virginia Public Radio, where she has been since 1997.
Her hobbies are music (of course), reading, college basketball, and her
golden retriever, Zack. Laura will be married in May to Jeff Allen,
also of Charleston.
