  • One of the nation’s largest National Historic Landmark Districts
  • Minutes from golfing, fishing, hiking, boating, and beaches
  • Featured in 40 films
  • Home of the nation’s second-largest St. Patrick’s Day celebration
  • Listed among New York Times’ “Top 12 Trendy Travel Hot Spots”
  • One of the South’s most beautiful and historic cities
Who Should Attend MPC 40 in Savannah:
  • Music directors, programmers, announcers, librarians
  • Program directors
  • Station managers
  • Record label publicists and promoters
  • Music organizations and publishers
  • Artist managers
  • Program syndicators and producers
We invite you to attend or send a representative to MPC 40. Our conference attendance has been increasing every year, and the effectiveness of music on public radio has been particularly noticeable during recent fund drives. We are seeing a resurgence of interest in music as a welcome alternative to the intensity of current events.

The conference sessions are of immediate interest to all of us in the industry, and we’ll be treated to performances by great artists presented by record companies and artists’ representatives. Meals and breaks will be sponsored by these organizations and many others, and the Marketplace, as always, will be a forum for stimulating conversation and a source for products station personnel use every day.

Savannah is a lovely city with great historic significance, and we are providing conference attendees the opportunity to enjoy it. Check the AMPPR web pages often for up-to-the-minute information about the conference and places of interest in Savannah. This issue of Music Notes contains the agenda, information about some of the speakers and musicians, travel and hotel information, a scholarship application form, and the conference registration form. These items are available at on our website.
